2. Purpose

This policy explains what personal data we process, why we process it, who may receive it and what rights you have. It is based on the Swiss Data Protection Act and, where applicable, the EU GDPR.

3. Data processed

• name, email, language and user account;
• Share My Car accounts, roles, status and invitations;
• vehicles, registration plates, mileage and kilometre rates;
• trips, dates, mileage, distance, notes and costs;
• expenses, currencies, merchants, notes and uploaded receipts;
• contract, plan, payment and subscription information;
• contact and support communications;
• IP address, browser, operating system, access time and server logs.

4. Purposes of processing

We process data to provide Share My Car, manage accounts and permissions, document trips and expenses, create statements, process payments, provide support, maintain security and comply with legal obligations.

5. Registration and accounts

We process the information required for registration and invitations. Owners and authorised administrators can invite members and manage roles and status. Members may see certain information about other members where needed to administer the shared account.

6. Trips, vehicles, expenses and receipts

Data is assigned to the relevant account. Trips are linked to the signed-in driver profile and selected vehicle. Users must upload only necessary and lawful content.

7. Stripe payments

Paid plans are purchased on pages provided by Stripe. We do not receive complete card numbers. We retain only the customer and subscription references, plan, status and term required for administration.

9. Contact

When you contact us, we process your information to answer and follow up. Required fields are limited to what is necessary.

10. Cookies and local storage

WordPress and Share My Car use cookies or similar storage necessary for sign-in, security, language, account selection and display preferences.

11. Languages and Polylang

Polylang provides German, French and English versions. The selected language may be stored locally; a manual selection takes priority over browser language.

13. Recipients

We may disclose personal data to service providers to the extent necessary for operations, hosting, communication, support, payment processing, security, or legal obligations. Service providers may process data only within the agreed-upon scope. A list of our current key service providers:

14. International disclosure

Where required, we use appropriate safeguards, particularly recognised standard contractual clauses, or rely on a statutory exception.

We keep personal data only as long as required for the purposes, contract, security or legal obligations.

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encrypted transmission, role- and account-based access restrictions, security checks and backups. Absolute protection cannot be guaranteed.

17. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or delivery of your data and object to certain processing. We may request proof of identity. Statutory retention obligations and third-party rights remain reserved.
